Linda Lou Hunter Peterson

Linda Lou Hunter Peterson, age 66, passed away unexpectedly Monday February 24th, 2020. She was born September 10th, 1953 in East Grand Rapids Michigan to Carolyn and Clarence Hunter.

Linda spent most of her childhood in Byron Center where she graduated in 1971 from Byron Center High School. Linda worked at several restaurants through-out the years but spent most of her time at the still standing Z’s Bar and Restaurant downtown. This is where Linda forged several of her long-lasting friendships that she always cherished dearly. Linda had a love for not only her friends but music, concerts, and most sports especially football and golf.

Anyone who knew Linda knew how much she loved her two girls. And both her grandsons too.  She treasured her children and grandchildren and embraced every moment she had with them. Something she said too often and never let them forget was that “She loved them to the moon and back”. She had a vivacious personality and always made those around her laugh.

Linda is preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Glen Hunter, Wayne Hunter and Larry Hunter and her sister Wanda Peavy. Brother in Laws Jeff Griffin, Jack Peavy and Virgil Button. Nephew, Jeff Peavy. And her very Best Friend in the world whom she missed every day, Carol Canfield.

Linda is survived by her two daughter’s Teri Peterson (Martin Stonto) and Shanna Peterson. Grandchildren Ethan and Aidan. Sisters Kay Osinga, Sue Griffin and Valerie Button (Jerry) Peters. Many nieces, nephews and several friends.

Linda’s daughters would like to say a special thank you to Marge, Meaghan and Jennifer for their care and compassion.

There will be a Celebration of Life for Linda that the family will announce as soon as they are able.

I met Linda in 1970 when I got home from the Army. We became close friends and remained close until her passing. We kept in touch via texting. I will miss her. My sympathies to the family.

Linda was Carol’s very best friend and I will always remember their conversations, humor and love for each other. I pray that Carol was there to welcome Linda into the Kingdom of Heaven. I miss both of them.
